3Cr2Mo steel is a general-purpose pre-hardened plastic mold steel that is currently widely used in various countries. Pre-hardened plastic mold steel converted from American AISI P20 and has been included in the national standard. After quenching and tempering, it can be machined. It has good machinability and mirror grinding and polishing properties. This steel has good hardenability and certain toughness, and can be carburized. After carburizing and quenching, the surface hardness can reach 65HRC, and it has high thermal hardness and wear resistance. Since it has been pre-hardened in the delivery state, it can be directly processed, polished and assembled. After the steel is carburized, nitrided, nitrocarburized or ion nitrided and then polished, the surface roughness can be reduced to about 0.03μm, the surface brightness of the mold can be further improved, and the service life of the mold is greatly improved.

Typical Application:

3Cr2Mo steel replaces traditional 45 steel and can be used to make large injection molds or extrusion molds. This steel is suitable for making large plastic molds such as TV sets, large radio cassettes, and washing machine panel covers. Its processability and polishability are significantly better than 45 steel. Under the same polishing conditions, the surface roughness is 1~ lower than 45 steel. Level 3. For example, the "Feiyue" brand 14-inch black and white TV casing plastic mold has been molded 240,000 times, and the mold is still intact. We have also made 18-inch color TV casing plastic molds, large radio recorder molds, record player cover molds, and Washing machine panel cover mold, etc. Suitable for compression molds or corrosion-resistant, high-precision molds.

Heat Treatment:

Quenching temperature 850℃~880℃, oil cooling
